bioaqualife™ Shrink Wrap
Stronger. Thicker. Better. Biodegradable.

We exclusively use biodegradable shrink wrap film manufactured in the USA by bioaqualife™. Their shrink wrap has a proprietary organic additive that makes it biodegradable in landfill conditions, but not before. It will protect your investments and the planet. In the Spring, you can recycle your shrink wrap, or put it out with the rest of your trash and know it won't be in the landfill forever!

Not only is the shrink wrap we use biodegradable, but it outperforms traditional shrink wrap. Our material is stronger, thicker, shrinks more, and self welds more easily than traditional shrink wrap film.

There's no need to make a sacrifice to protect your planet and your investments.

bioaqualife™ shrink wrap is biodegradable because of  a proprietary organic additive. Once bioaqualife™ shrink wrap is in a landfill, it will begin to decompose (and not before). Their shrink wrap is recyclable as well.

The biodegradation only begins when the plastic is exposed to a microbe rich environment such as in a landfill. The additive attracts microbes to the plastic, and as they digest it, the molecular structure of the plastic starts to break down into soil and natural gases.

.

Unlike traditional shrink wrap, bioaqualife™ plastic will not break down into micro-plastic and does not require heat, light or oxygen to biodegrade. Unlike many products that claim to be biodegradable or compostable, the shrink wrap from bioaqualife™ does not require special conditions to biodegrade; it just needs to end up in a landfill!

Not only is the shrink wrap from bioaqualife™ biodegradable, but it outperforms average shrink wrap film in every way. Compared to the traditional shrink wrap that most installers use for seasonal coverage of boats and patio furniture, bioaqualife™ shrink wrap:

  • is thicker and stronger. Stronger shrink wrap means lower odds that there is a puncture or hole.

  • shrinks more, causing the material to pull tighter. This reduce the likelihood of water or snow sitting on the wrap and ultimately the risk of having a problem with the wrap over the winter.

  • self tacks more easily and effectively. Not only does this reduce the likelihood of a seem failing, but it saves time and money taping seams.

  • meets ASTM E84 Class A fire retardant rating, which reduces risk during and after installation.

Collectively, these features reduce the likelihood that there will be any problems with the wrap. We stand behind out work and guarantee it for the winter.

Why biodegradable matters

>92 Million pounds of shrink wrap

is used in the US annually for boats, most of which is not recycled.  Ensure that you aren't contributing to the plastic problem by choosing biodegradable shrink wrap.

<10% of plastic is recycled

While regular shrink wrap is generally recyclable, only about 9% of plastic is recycled. There isn't clear data on what percentage of shrink wrap is recycled, but in many areas it isn't easy to find a place to recycle it.

Microplastics are a problem

and they're in our oceans, our atmosphere, and our bodies. By choosing to use a biodegradable shrink wrap film that doesn't break down into microplastics, you're helping to stop the problem at the source.

Plastic is forever

It takes between 20 and 500 years for plastic to decompose, but even then, it never fully disappears, it just gets smaller and smaller. bioaqualife™ shrink wrap doesn't break down into microplastics, it breaks down into CH4, CO2 and organic matter.
